Joe Biden has officially declared his intention to run for reelection in 2024, putting an end to months of speculation surrounding his plans. This decision paves the way for a potential rematch of the 2020 election with former President Donald Trump.
While Biden’s bid may dissuade major Democratic contenders from entering the race, a number of Republican candidates have already thrown their hats into the ring, with current polling indicating Trump as the frontrunner.
However, there appears to be a lack of enthusiasm among the general public for a rematch between the two candidates, with less than half of voters expressing a desire to see either of them run again. Additionally, nearly 40% of respondents indicated feeling “exhausted” by the possibility of another contentious election, especially considering Biden and Trump’s advancing ages of 81 and 78 years old, respectively, by the time of the next election.
